Testing
BE-CI is experienced in conducting multiple types of sampling and testing and has performed a variety of testing in the field for numerous projects across the United States and the Caribbean. Our field testing and sampling is utilized to assist in field verifications during surveys and evaluations or to accurately identify building failures and improper construction, wet insulation in roof systems, air and water penetration in cladding and building fenestrations to define the scope of corrective action. Our testing is performed in accordance with standard test methods and testing standards know and accepted in the industry to include:
American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM)
American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA)
Sealants, Waterproofing and Restoration Institutes (SWRI)
Exterior Insulation and Manufacturers Association (EIMA)
International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI)
Factory Mutual (FM)
Among others
BE-CI is very experienced and capable of providing the following types of testing:

Infrared Thermography
Water, Door and Curtain Wall Water and Air Penetration Testing.
Thermography is a “heat diagram” of visible image using infrared
wavelengths. This imaging technique is a powerful and noninvasive means
of monitoring and diagnosing the condition of buildings. IR inspections
can provide immediate documentation of building envelope leakage, assessment
of energy inefficiency and electrical problems. Typically water on building
materials will evaporate and cool. A wet spot when observed with the infrared
camera is visible as a distinct cool spot or warm spot depending on the
time, weather and sectional profile of the roof or wall. Roof surveys
conducted at night will depict moisture under the membrane as a hot area
because of solar loading that occurs during the day.
